How WIFI is improving Adsense/Adwords

Everday I look around and see more and more people away from home or work with computers. Sometimes they are sitting in starbucks, listening to music and browsing the internet through their T-mobile hotspot. Cafes tend to be one of the more frequent places to see people, but so too is the library or local University.

Several campuses are working to offer WIFI from anywere on campus. On a larger Scale Google is working with San Fransisco to offer WIFI city wide!

I often wonder where this will take everyone. Google already allows advertisers to choose the location of their ads. Will it be possible to narrow this down even farther? I imagine it wouldn't be to difficult to to this by tracking the physical locations of routers and then mapping what routers a person shows up on. This of course could require setting up the GPS chips (perhaps the same ones used in phones...) in all of the various routers...

it will be fun to see if this happens one day...
